Hockey Clothing

The North American ice hockey market illustrates this. The sport has increased in popularity all over the world in part due to the development of synthetic ice.

Goalie pants incorporate larger pelvic, thigh and hip pads to help protect. Goalie jocks, also known as jills, have less groin protection and more padding in the front of their cup.

Apparel

Hockey players must wear protective gear since the sport involves speed skating on hard surfaces. Players collide frequently, and sometimes even deliberately. Apart from ice skating sticks and ice skates the standard safety gear includes a helmet (with an visor or full face mask), shoulder pads and elbow pads, mouth guard and gloves, lined shorts (also called hockey pants or jock athletic protective, for males; and a jockstrap, also known as a "jill" for females) as well as a pelvic protector (known as a girdle for women) and thigh hip, tailbone, and shin pads. A neck protector might be worn.

In recent times technology has been employed to reduce the weight of ice hockey apparel and make it more useful. Numerous companies use carbon composites in stick shafts, and special foams to make shoulder pads lighter, without harming protection. Other advancements include 3D scanning, which can be used to depict a person's body proportions and make sure that elbows knee, the knee and shin pads are designed to fit the specific player.

The market for hockey is predicted to expand over the next few years as more people become aware of the sport, and as ice rinks made of synthetic materials are built across the globe, allowing players in areas that have no natural ice available. The number of female hockey players has also increased which is great for the market.

Jerseys

Jerseys are the uniforms worn by hockey players. The jerseys are generally heavier and have longer sleeves than other jerseys for sports. The jerseys have the team logo on the front as well as the last name of the player on the their back and the number ranging from zero to 100. Some jerseys are also adorned with a "C" and an "A" on the back, indicating the team's captain and alternate captain.

There are two types of NHL jerseys: authentic and replica. The authentic jerseys are made from the same material as the ones worn by the players, and feature the identical design. Replica jerseys are constructed from different materials (usually cheaper) and might not have the exact design as authentic jerseys.

The majority of NHL teams have 3 or 4 sets of jerseys to wear during games. They also have some special sets, like heritage designs and charity events. Each jersey is fitted with an elastic band stitched into the inside back known as a fight strap which needs to be tied to the player's pants during a game to stop the sweater from being pulled over the player's head during a fight.

The Authentic Pro is a top-tier NHL jersey made of high-performance materials, with multilayered tackle twill and 3D embroidering. It also has reinforced stitching. Both women's and men's styles are available. The Authentic Premier is a lower-tier version of the Authentic Pro, and it is designed to replicate the appearance of the jerseys that players wear on the playing field.

Shirts

The team's uniforms, also known as jerseys, are the most well-known piece of clothing. The primary logo of the team is displayed on the front, while a secondary logo is usually worn on the shoulders. A player's last name is displayed on the back of the jersey, and the player's number appears below it. It can range from 0 up to 99. The captains of the team wear a capital "C" to the left of their team logo. Two other players who are designated as alternate captains, wear an "A".

The majority of NHL teams have a third-sweater, or alternate, that is worn for special occasions, like for the Winter Classic or Stadium Series. Additionally some teams have a throwback or retro alternative for their home jerseys. These third sweaters are great for teams to experiment and can be used as a base for their primary sweaters.

Vancouver Canucks' sweater is a beautiful blend of modern and traditional design. The blue and black jerseys sport a bold style to them, which makes it easy to spot on the ice, and the white stripes add contrast. The Canucks also have a fantastic font on their names and numbers that adds to the clean look of the jersey.
